Clear, microporous wood impregnation based on natural oils and waxes without biocides or preservatives. Due to its high physical wood protection, it is well-suited for coating wood that is susceptible to blue stain. Osmo Wood Protector is strongly water-repellent. The dry finish is safe for humans, animals and plants (resistant to saliva and perspiration acc. German DIN 53160, suitable for children’s toys acc. EN 71.3).
Osmo Wood Protector is suitable for all wood in indoor areas, such as wooden flooring made of wood species susceptible to blue stain (e.g. Pine), window frames and wood in baths, and for wood in outdoor areas, for which an absolutely ecological, biocide-free impregnation is desired, such as playground equipment and sandboxes.

Application
SURFACE PREPARATION
Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%). Osmo Wood Protector is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works. Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood (with wood filler). The finished surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces. Osmo Wood Protector is compatible with all conventional types of glue and putty (except for products containing silicon).
METHODS OF APPLICATION
Apply one time to the clean and dry wood with a flat brush, microfibre roller or by dipping. Coat the clean, dry and frost-free wood generously – if possible, on all sides. Dipping process: approx. 2 minutes dipping time. Ventilate well. Top coat should be carried out within one week.
DRYING TIME
Approx. 24 hours when brushed and approx. 36 hours when dipped (normal climatic conditions, 23 °C/50 % rel. humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity can increase the drying time. Ventilate well while drying.
COVERAGE
1 litre covers approx. 6-8.4 m² with one coat. Coverage depends significantly on the condition of the wood. All information refers to smooth and planed/ sanded surfaces. Other surfaces may lead to differences in coverage.
NOTE
Oils enhance the natural tone of wood (permanent wet effect). Osmo Wood Protector is not to be used alone. Within one week, a top coat (with an oil-based Osmo wood finish) should be carried out. Due to the strongly water-repellent effect, do not coat with water-soluble products (e.g. Interior Wax).
